e-Pilgrimage ‘walks in faith’ again after receiving warm welcome

After the successful launch of its first “e-Pilgrimage” during the Lenten Season, Hijos Tours opens its second “Journey to Faith” for new pilgrims today, May 29.

“The feedback we received from our participants during the first e-Pilgrimage showed us that nourishing our spiritual health is just as important as taking care of our physical bodies in this time of pandemic. Reminding ourselves that having a sense of community and responsibility to our environment and to others is important in these trying times,” explained Hijos Tours president Marilyn Manila.

Aside from the discussion on the history of the four churches, namely St. Paul the First Hermit Cathedral in San Pablo City, St. John the Baptist Church in Liliw, St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church in Nagcarlan, and St. Augustine Parish Church in Bay, each stop ends with a reflection on the historical value of the churches accompanied by a short prayer and led by the guest parish priest.

The tour also touches on the history, historical sites, and the environmental background of the municipalities where the churches are located. Sites such as the Sampaloc Lake of San Pablo City and the Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery are some of the places talked about the tour.

CARD MRI senior adviser for research Aniceta Alip reflected on what made the e-Pilgrimage meaningful for her, “The Church today has gone through a lot of improvements in making communities better spiritually. Faith with action is as relevant then as it is now, especially in these difficult times.”

The next session of the “Journey to Faith” e-Pilgrimage tour is on June 26. For more information, visit HijosToursOfficial on Facebook.
