Giving back to the community is among the most important and honorable things one can do. It’s a rewarding and fulfilling contribution whether you are volunteering or donating.

As the Philippines’ leading home improvement and construction supply retailer, Wilcon Depot has set its corporate social responsibility through a partnership with Grohe, a leading global brand for complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, for the construction of the new public restroom at St. John Bosco Parish in Tondo, Manila.

In an effort to provide a more convenient and satisfying bathroom experience to the Filipino community, Wilcon Depot and Grohe donated building materials for the betterment of the St. John Bosco Parish facility. The students were able to build a 40-sqm. separated men and women’s restrooms.

The construction of the new public restroom sserves as completion of requirements for the students, who have completed their vocational courses at Grohe Dual Tech Academy in Don Bosco Youth Center.

Grohe Dual Tech is a partnership program of Grohe and Don Bosco Youth Center to empower young people to improve their lives by offering vocational apprenticeship programs with widely accepted graduation certificates, and consequently, open opportunities for them in the form of secure jobs with competitive salaries.

Forty-two students have completed the course of General Maintenance Technician (GMT) and passed the International Certification on Grohe Standards assessment exam, qualifying them to work for Grohe in the country or abroad. The graduates of the Grohe Dual Tech Academy also had the honor to be the first batch to receive an International Certification from Grohe Germany.

Through this CSR partnership, Wilcon continues to uphold its vision for the society to contribute the best expertise, knowledge, skills, and resources to promote a stronger, safer and more sustainable homes and buildings for all kinds of people.
