Ascott is limitless: 40 years of hospitality prowess and beyond

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Ascott Limited, one of Asia Pacific’s leading international accommodation operators, reflects on its remarkable four-decade of excellent journey. Boasting an impressive portfolio of 950 properties spread across 220 countries worldwide, the company continues to expand its horizon with numerous property openings in the years ahead.

New leadership and expertise

In a demonstration of its commitment to excellence, Ascott has appointed Patrick Vaysse as the new country general manager, bringing over 25 years of hospitality expertise to his new position in the Philippines. Previously served as the COO of Ascott Limited in Indonesia, he played a key role when the company tapped into the full-service hotel industry through the acquisition of the Indonesian hospitality giant Tauzia. His extensive technical knowledge and deep multicultural hospitality experience are expected to contribute to elevating Ascott’s Philippine portfolio. Also joining him are the newly appointed Cluster General Managers, Ms. Cecille Teodoro, and Mr. Rennan John Reyes, whose fresh perspectives and insightful ideas promise to usher in a new era of growth and innovation for the company.

An ambitious expansion

As the company commemorates its remarkable decades’ journey on the global stage, its influence in the country is reaching unprecedented heights. Since its market entry in 2000, Ascott Limited Philippines has firmly established itself as a leader and expanded its portfolio to an impressive 32 serviced residences locally. With Vaysse’s addition as Country General Manager, the company plans to introduce several more properties and brands to the country. “As we continue to expand our reach nationwide, the portfolio looks to grow to over 50 properties by 2028,” Vaysse stated. “Beyond the well-established serviced residences, we’re also eager to add our full-service hotels into the ever-growing portfolio here in the Philippines.”

Property additions + hotels & resorts entry

Citadines hotel apartments offer all the comforts of working, playing, and living, letting you enjoy the conveniences of a home away from home. Its Greenhills branch versatilely stands near Ortigas CBD, Greenhills Shopping Center, schools, and hospitals; the branch in Bacolod lets you live in urban comfort with a more intimate ambiance, giving you a peaceful and private environment; and its Paragon branch in Davao provides an entirely different experience, as the property is an integrated development with retail, office, and event spaces, making it an ideal choice for tourists and business professionals alike.

Located in the heart of Makati CBD, the New York Flatiron Building-inspired Somerset Valero is the perfect option for guests visiting for either leisure or business–or both; while the innovatively designed and furnished with modern amenities Somerset Gorordo in Cebu is best for business travelers in the shipping and manufacturing industries, as it sits close to Cebu Business Park.

Ascott Double Dragon, a 300-unit luxury apartment, is the ultimate pick for foreign, corporate, and leisure clients that need easy access to the airport, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), SM Mall of Asia, and the Entertainment City.

Foraying into the hotels and resorts market, Ascott’s two new openings–Preference in Siargo and Citadines in Mactan, Cebu–coincide perfectly with Mr. Vaysse’s arrival, allowing him to impart his intensive knowledge in the industry. His experience will be pivotal in the seamless and successful debut of the said properties as the company ventures into another hospitality domain.
