Thinking back on the story of development and community in the past, I see that the year 2024 brings in a new era defined by changing consumer habits and the inevitable need for digital transformation.
The winds of change are drastically affecting customer behavior, according to this year’s market data. The call for agility and adaptability in our service and product offerings has never been more resounding. Customers are becoming more tech-savvy, loving mobile connectivity, cultivating a wellness and health conscience, and realizing the importance of Earth-Humanity consciousness.
“change is the only constant.”—From the suburban migration to the construction boom, the rise of condominiums, and the enduring popularity of loyalty programs, each trend contributes to the overarching narrative of transformation.
As a columnist and as a leader of one of the construction retail industries in the Philippines– Wilcon Depot, I find a sense of joy in witnessing not only the progress of the company but also the shared stories of our customers and the communities we have become a part of 2023 has been a testament to our adaptability, resilience, and steadfast spirit that drives us forward.
This year, Wilcon Depot proudly opened seven new depots, spanning locations such as Guiguinto, Bulacan; Rosario, Batangas; San Nicolas, San Fernando; Sta. Maria Bulacan; Iligan, Lanao Del Norte; and Naic, Cavite. Additionally, two Home Essential Stores were welcomed in CDO and Southpark, Alabang.
After years of building and innovating, Wilcon Depot finally reached its 90th store—the Wilcon Depot Tuy, Batangas. This newest addition is more than just a physical store; it is a chapter in the story of our unwavering commitment to excellence and dedication to providing quality home solutions. Our journey resonates through the aisles of every store we open, solidifying Wilcon Depot’s position as the backbone of the communities we serve.
Now that Wilcon Depot has reached a total of 90 stores nationwide, we are proud to be able to serve more communities and contribute to the development of the construction industry in the Philippines. With our #FlyingHighTo100 store expansion campaign, Wilcon Depot aims to have 100 operating stores nationwide by 2025, barring any unexpected external factors.
I believe that growing the store network not only allows the retailers to bring their products closer to customers but also creates new job opportunities for the local communities and contributes to the overall economic growth of the respective regions.
