I have always been a hostel kind of a guy, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow travellers and exchanging notes and tips. Hotels, especially the grand ones, tend to isolate guests from each other. Staycations have become more popular with urbanites who prefer to stay in the metro rather than cruise through provincial roads.
One such staycation destination is Richmonde Hotel which provides first rate products and services. Located conveniently on San Miguel Avenue in Ortigas Center, it is a few minutes drive to Shaw Boulevard and EDSA where you will find several malls. Ortigas Center has been a favorite meeting place of businessmen and friends alike considering Ortigas Center is in the middle of Manila.

Hotel rooms are very clean and one can enjoy soaking in the bathtub. Appetizing food is served at Richmonde Cafe. For entertainment and a few drinks, head off to The Exchange. Try their mini ensaymada at the lobby cafe. There is a business center and a health club. My favorite, though, is the covered heated swimming pool where I could do laps without getting cold. Most of all, the staff are genuinely friendly and courteous. They make Richmonde a homey hotel.
