Crown Pipes: Putting safety and quality first

All over Metro Manila and beyond, we’ve seen many ongoing property developments—from big-ticket infrastructure projects to towering residential developments.

Not many people may realize, however, that constructing these massive real estate projects involves many moving parts.

One crucial element of any building or infrastructure is pipes which are used as conduit by which water from a source passes to reach a building’s reservoir or pipelines. Pipes are also used for the underground installation of electrical lines, among other building needs.

One company stands out because of its quality pipes, Crown Asia Chemicals Corp., the Villanueva-led listed pipes manufacturer.

Crown Asia’s CROWN Pipes are part of many ongoing key infrastructure projects in the country including the Metro Manila Subway, the North-South Commuter Railway, the CALAX Extension, MRT-7 and the North Luzon Expressway Connector Road.

CROWN Pipes to be used in the Metro Manila Subway have been tested by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Prior to the Metro Manila Subway, these pipes have also been part of other major infrastructure projects such as The North Railway Commuter System (NRCS), Skyway-3, MRT-7, TPLEX, CALAX, Wawa Water Resources and NAIA Expressways, among others.

In terms of residential projects, there are also quite a number of developments using Crown Pipes and most of them are among the biggest names in real estate.

CROWN Pipes are likewise used by major private developers of commercial, industrial, residential, institutional and energy projects and carried throughout regional areas, provinces and cities across the country through two regional sales depots, in Cebu and Davao.

Crown Asia, the listed company behind CROWN Pipes has been awarded by Forbes Asia as one of the 200 Best Under A Billion for two consecutive years now , and by Financial Times of London as one of the Top 1000 High Growth Companies in 2018.

The company is engaged in the production of plastic compounds, plastic pipes and other related products such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pellets, which are used directly and indirectly in the construction and telecommunications industries.

It derives its revenues from the operations of its two business groups, namely, the compounds group and the pipes group. On one hand, Crown manufactures PVC compounds such as wires and cables, IC tubes, films and sheets, and bottles, among others. On the other hand, the Company’s PVC pipes and fittings product line consists of PVC potable pipes and fittings, electrical conduits, flexible electrical pipes, and sanitary pipes, among others. The company’s plant is located in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
