Wilcon Depot is focusing its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs on different advocacies that contribute to educational, environmental, and socio-civic causes.
The country’s top home improvement and construction supplies retailer prides itself in supporting these good causes and allocating the resources they have to deliverable quantifiable outcomes.
Education
For education, Wilcon Depot has placed its support towards the Department of Education’s Tulong Barya Para sa Eskwela Project, an advocacy to provide assistance in the education of children and youth, by collecting donations from customers and employees.
Moreover, it contributes to the education of different students, bringing their best expertise, knowledge, resources, and skills to the table and conducting educational Depot Tours in their various stores.
Through its Wilcon Foundation, it grants free education to deserving underprivileged youth and gives priority to its employees’ children.
Environment
Wilcon Depot sustains its commitment to conserve and protect Mother Earth by participating in various environmental activities.
For one, it participated in the Tanim Para Kay Maria Makiling, an environmental project of the city government of Calamba, Laguna. Wilcon Depot also joined the Pista Y Ang Kabuegan or the Feast of the Forest, which is an annual mass tree-planting festivity in Palawan.
Socio-Civic
Regarding socio-civic causes, Wilcon Depot has collaborated with the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation to rehabilitate the latter’s Bantay Bata 163 Children’s Village Project.
Moreover, the home retailer has provided financial assistance to the Philippine Red Cross in supporting its various advocacies and extending help to other community-based organizations such as Master’s Lighthouse Foundation and Called to Rescue Philippines, Hero Foundation, UAP-Iloilo Chapter, Museo Pambata Foundation Inc., and Sangyaw Foundation Inc. Rescue Philippines, Hero Foundation, UAP-Iloilo Chapter, Museo Pambata Foundation Inc., and Sangyaw Foundation Inc.
Such philanthropic acts prove that Wilcon Depot does not only exist for our home and structural needs, but to serve lots of people in need, as well.
