Enjoy flood-free living in Pampanga

Ninety minutes north of Metro Manila, Pampanga is a viable option to relocate to from the already crowded National Capital Region. With a developing economy complemented by infrastructure and facilities, Pampanga is considered one of the major growth hubs in the country.

While the province is a perfect escape from the day-to-day hustle of the nation’s capital, it does have one concerning issue especially during the monsoon or rainy season – flooding.

Pampanga, including all its first class municipalities like Angeles and San Fernando, usually suffers from flooding brought about by monsoon rains during the rainy season from June to November each year.

When it comes to investing in houses and lots for sale in Pampanga therefore, one needs to research on the location — especially on how well the property can withstand and respond to natural calamities including floods.

There are certain areas in Barangay Del Carmen in San Fernando  that remain accessible and passable during inclement weather. This is mostly owing to the fact that these areas have been engineered to resist rising water levels. Among those areas that are flood-free are the SM City and Robinsons Starmills malls, and the Pueblo de Oro communities.

Homeowners of Pueblo de Oro’s 30-hectare residential subdivisions – Horizon Residences, La Aldea Fernandina and Park Place Pampanga – continue to benefit from the planning and design of flood control measures that the Company has put in place since it began developing these residential projects over twenty years ago.

Aware of the province’s history, Pueblo de Oro commissioned a flood water study before starting development activities. As a result of its findings, the company spent some P150 million to elevate the 30-hectare property by 1.5 to three meters above its original level.

The developer further introduced an efficient drainage system that allows rainwater to spread through different canals and freely run off, thus preventing the accumulation of water.

Thus, Pueblo de Oro’s residential properties in Pampanga have never experienced flooding, even during the worst typhoons.

“Pueblo de Oro has always believed in putting quality and responsible engineering and design foremost into its developments,” said PDO SVP Leonardo Dayao, Jr. One of the factors it has consistently paid attention to is the flood control measures, even before climate change became an important concern in property development.

Pueblo de Oro’s efforts ensure that its developments are of high quality, and that necessary engineering measures are provided for the safety and convenience of its residents.
