Ayala Land and Avida Land lauded at HR Excellence Awards 2022

People are the backbone of businesses. At the core of processes and results are the employees who keep operations going and contribute valuably to the organization. Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) and Avida Land Corp. recognize these which is why they see to it that employees are getting the support that they need, whether it be in their career or giving them the means to do other meaningful activities that help them grow personally.

These efforts did not go unnoticed as Ayala Land bagged Bronze in the recently concluded HR Excellence Awards 2022 for the Excellence in Employee Engagement category, while Avida Land was awarded Silver and Bronze in 2 categories, namely the Excellence in CSR Strategy and Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing respectively.

With ALI being driven by one of its core values, Malasakit (caring for and going the extra mile), in all that they do, they were able to harness and strengthen their relationship and connection with their employees. Through these ALI ran programs, employees were given an avenue to be heard and enjoy recreational activities.

“We know that our people are key to the company’s success, which is why we take our role of recruiting, developing, and keeping them engaged very seriously. Malasakit always goes two ways.  We owe it to our people to keep improving on our programs, reinvent where necessary, and make sure the programs are still relevant,” Rico Manuel, HR Head of ALI Corporate Support said.

ENGAGE 2021 was a survey conducted, where employees had a platform to freely speak their thoughts on the company’s leadership, strategy, and other important aspects of the business. The ALI Buyanihan Program Relaunch and Alagang AyalaLand Passion Fest were done to boost morale and give them enjoyment through shopping for local and unique goods from social enterprises. A number of these social enterprises were also endorsed by Avida to Ayala Malls to help them get back on their feet after the pandemic hit their businesses.

Ayala Land HR’s call for employees to participate in the company’s Clean and Dry Plastic Campaign

True to ALI’s carbon neutrality goal, the Clean and Dry Plastic Campaign of ALI aims to raise awareness among employees and encourages them to recycle and repurpose plastic discards, and to be mindful of how they consume, allowing them to be stewards of sustainability. Avida also contributed to this by collecting 733 kgs of plastic, with employees who participated sharing that it made them more mindful of consumption and that this activity catapulted them into making it a habit to become part of the solution to the plastic pollution problem.

Garnering Avida Land their Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing award was the “Healthier WE Is My Priority” campaign, a corporate safety communication campaign that focused on employees’ physical and mental health, safety, and wellbeing, highlighting that being a healthy individual also meant protecting those around them such as their family and coworkers.

On the other hand, their Excellence in CSR Strategy award can be attributed to their numerous meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility programs such as providing sponsorship to young and aspiring students, patronizing local products from social enterprises, and extending financial assistance to its corporate services partners (messengers, security personnel and housekeepers) through employee donations.

“Going beyond creating an ideal workplace, a key consideration for us is to create a culture that prioritizes employee wellbeing, high engagement, and being able to give back.” Francis Mallari, Avida HR Group Head added.
