The Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA) Philippines is set to hold another edition of its September Online Sale (SOS), in line with its efforts to revive the tourism industry.
“After a blockbuster run last year, having sold almost 2,000 vouchers that brought in much-needed revenue for the pandemic-hit tourism industry, SOS is coming back this year to bring hundreds of travel promotions and discounts from HSMA partner resorts and hotels across the country,” HSMA said.
Over 70 hotels and resorts in the country are expected to participate in the month-long sale, offering deals as much as 70 percent off.
The HSMA launched the SOS last year as part of its efforts to spur the recovery of the tourism industry, including the hotel sector.
For this year’s SOS, the group is banking on the growing number of vaccinated Filipinos.
Latest data from the Department of Health (DOH) shows 13.8 million Filipinos are already fully vaccinated as of August 29.
“Happening from September 15 ‘till October 15, 2021, let this be our investment in hope, that by making travel plans now, we are claiming some semblance of normalcy in our lives and taking the chance to rediscover the beauty of our country,” the group said.
“It is also an opportunity to revive the tourism industry and extend a helping hand to the over 4.8 million workers hit because of the pandemic,” it added.
In the interest of every Filipino’s health and safety, the HSMA said the Department of Tourism (DOT) is also working with hotels and resorts to implement strict protocols and precautionary measures set by the World Health Organization (WHO) to make travel safe for both guests and employees.
SOS is presented by HSMA, the DOT, Tourism Promotions Board, Atlantis, and Isentia; and co-presented by Cebu Pacific Air, the exclusive airline partner.
