Rockwell and HoliCOW in island living pop-up

On June 20, Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan and the Holistic Coalition of the Willing (HoliCOW) brought the best of island living to the urban metropolitan capital of Manila through “Layag: An island-living pop-up.”

Layag is Cebuano for “sail,” and embodies the Visayan spirit of boldly trying new things, seeking new horizons, and strengthening community bonds, which are similar to the advocacy of HoliCOW. HoliCOW is a coalition of furniture designers and exporters based in Cebu, dedicated towards sustainability, identity and community in production and design practice

At the launch of the Layag pop-up, guests got a glimpse of what the Rockwell lifestyle will be like upon arriving on Cebu’s majestic shores, specifically at Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan. Some of the items in the pop-up included curated works by HoliCOW-affiliated designers such as Avatar Accessories, Earthworks, All That Glitters (by Amanda Luym), and HoliCOW exclusives designed by Debbu Palao and Hacienda Crafts. Various items were on display such as bags, jewellery pieces, home décor, textiles, and food from Zubuchon and Casa de Cacao — two well-loved Cebuano brands for lechon and Cebuano sikwate (hot chocolate). To further enhance the taste and feel of Cebu, Via Mare prepared dishes that are dinstinctly Cebuano such as pritchon, puso and humba, budbud kabog with sikwate, and tomatoes stuffed with lato and danggit chips.

The pop-up was held from June 20 to 23 at the Rockwell sales lounge in Power Plant Mall.
