The Ueno Park Philippine Expo is an annual event that celebrates Philippine independence and the strong bond between Japan and the Philippines. This year, around eighty thousand attendees enjoyed a three-day feast of Filipino culture, featuring food stalls with local delicacies like halo-halo, balut, and street foods, a dance battle between Japanese and Filipino participants, the Nippon and Pinoy Karaoke Challenge, and various song and dance performances. Notable Filipino and Japanese pop artists made appearances, including Jed Madela, a renowned singer, songwriter, TV host, and the first Filipino inducted into the Hall of Fame of the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), who graced this year’s event.
