In a significant boost to the national housing sector, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has announced the release of a P350 million developmental loan by the Pag-IBIG Fund. This financial injection supports a private sector-led township project integral to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s ambitious Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
The loan was officially handed over during the DHSUD’s 5th anniversary celebrations. DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar expressed his enthusiasm over the milestone, viewing it as a catalyst that will not only strengthen but also expedite the implementation of the national housing agenda.
Pag-IBIG Fund’s Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta presented the loan check to Atty. Wilma Eisma, representing the beneficiary, PCHC-CSE Builders Joint Venture Company Ltd. The company is actively engaged in constructing Phase 1 of the Palayan City Township Project in Nueva Ecija, a key development poised to significantly enhance the local housing landscape.
Secretary Acuzar emphasized the broader impact of this financial move, stating, “This fortifies continuous development in Palayan City and, more importantly, bolsters the private sector’s confidence in our flagship housing program.”
The Palayan City Township Housing Project, under the leadership of Mayor Viandrei Nicole J. Cuevas and the local government, is set to benefit an initial 1,076 families. The mayor extended heartfelt thanks to Secretary Acuzar and CEO Acosta for their unwavering support in propelling the LGU project forward.
With four buildings currently under construction in Barangay Atate, the township project is on track to deliver its first batch of housing units by July this year, marking a timely contribution to the growing portfolio of the 36 Pambansang Pabahay projects now in various stages of realization across the country.
The event, which symbolizes a collaborative effort between government and the private sector, was also attended by distinguished guests including DHSUD Undersecretaries Emmanuel Pineda and Avelino Tolentino III, Pag-IBIG Fund Deputy CEOs Alex Aguilar and Benjie Felix Jr., and Atty. Marcial Pimentel Jr., among other officials.
This strategic partnership and financial facilitation by Pag-IBIG Fund herald a new chapter in the 4PH Program, promising to expedite the provision of quality, affordable housing and to fulfill the aspirations of numerous Filipino families.
