IEE fosters growth and innovation for a safer new normal

International Elevator and Equipment, Inc. (IEE), a Group Company of Mitsubishi Electric, will co-present once again at the 2020 run of PhilConstruct – PhilConstruct VX – known as the biggest construction exhibit in the country where companies promote their latest product innovations.

The event, to be held virtually for the first time, will run from Nov. 5 to 11, 2020. This digital platform has allowed event organizers to extend their reach to an even wider and larger audience, going beyond boundaries to expand business opportunities, and bringing much of the same experience to attendees while staying safe from the pandemic.

For this year’s digital exhibit, IEE will highlight products and solutions that promote better hygiene and a cleaner atmosphere, in continued efforts to help people change for the better and adapt to the new normal. With the theme “Together Growing for the New Norm”, IEE and Mitsubishi Electric aim to support communities with technologies that are both safe and eco-friendly, thus helping to secure a comfortable and healthy living environment for all.

Innovation for the better

One of the products that aim to help contribute to the betterment of the current pandemic situation is the Jet Towel Mini, an innovative and compact hand drier designed to quickly dry hands in an average of 10 seconds. Its sleek design features a spacious hand-drying zone with both nozzle and sensor located at the front to dry the hands without even touching the unit. The unit is also a breeze to maintain – with a hygienic removable water-catching tray and tank to toss out accumulating grime, which can be fully washed for extra hygiene and safety. It is also an energy-efficient, eco-friendly alternative to paper towels.

Similarly, the Jet Towel Slim, which can dry hands at an average of 9 seconds, is sleek and hygienic and comes with an easy-to-install antibacterial filter for increased dust and bacteria filtration.

With frequent hand-washing continually being recommended as one of the key precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Jet Towel Mini and Jet Towel Slim complement and complete the proper handwashing routine through contactless, thorough drying of hands to further lessen contact with other surfaces.

The Lossnay Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) is another technology apt to adapt to the new normal. The technology, developed in 1970, remains relevant to the current situation, with the need for proper ventilation and better indoor air quality to help reduce the risk of infection.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations (REHVA), increased ventilation can help reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19. Ventilation can also contribute to indoor environment comfort, can lessen building degradation, and can help ensure a healthy living environment for space’s occupants. The Lossnay’s ventilation technology effectively refreshes a room’s air quality with its highly-efficient filters to liken that of cool fresh air from an open window, while maintaining a comfortable temperature and humidity levels indoors. Its supply fan and exhaust fans ensure that indoor air pressure is well-balanced, too, so that unwanted gusts of wind don’t blow dust and dirt into your room, maintaining cleanliness. Lossnay also features a highly efficient heat-recovery system to help reduce power consumption and save more energy.

In the realm of contactless security for offices operating with a limited workforce, IEE and Mitsubishi Electric also offer the MELSAFETY-PA Access Control System, featuring card-operated elevator cars and office doors to reduce contact with surfaces.

Innovation for the new normal

Meaningful contributions to society, such as these solutions to minimize the risks and threats of the COVID-19 virus, drive IEE to continue innovating and changing for the better alongside Mitsubishi Electric. Even before the pandemic, the company’s technologies, such as elevators and escalators, have been developed and constructed with sustainable innovations in mind. IEE continues to participate in events such as PhilConstruct as a way to bring all these innovative solutions even closer to the local market.
