Aside from the themed boutique subdivisions that they are offering in Silang, Cavite, Cathay Land Inc. has also brought in South Forbes’ mid-rise properties that offer the same modern conveniences of city living in a more relaxed location, and with a cooler climate.
The condominium properties of Stanford Suites, Fullerton Suites, Scandia Suites, and Golf View Terraces come as part and parcel of the fast-paced development in the Silang-Tagaytay corridor brought about by the easier access points of the CALAX or Cavite-Laguna Expressway, which has an exit that leads directly to South Forbes. With this new infrastructure development, travel time to Makati or the Mall of Asia area will be cut significantly.
Cathay Land president Jeffrey Ng says that they decided to put up condominiums in the area as well because they want to be able to offer something for every type of homeowner. “We have a mix of medium-sized homes and larger-sized villas in our themed villages, and we also have our modern condominium units. We want to cater to everyone, whatever their lifestyle is.”
The choice often comes down to convenience, Ng explains. “Not everyone wants to have their own house and lot. We have students here from the nearby schools such as Don Bosco, St. Scholastica and the soon-to-open Chiang Kai Shek College that is built on 10 hectares of land. These are students who might just want to stay at South Forbes during weekdays, so a condo would be perfectly suitable to their needs. Our condo properties are also practical for the expats who work at the nearby industrial parks, and lastly, we have empty nesters who wold rather live in a condominium building rather than maintain a house and garden on their own.”
Condominium choices and convenience
Ng adds, “What we have is a smorgasbord of choices for them — there is something at South Forbes for everyone.” As they offer different-sized cuts for the house and lots in the Mediterranean Villas, Chateax de Paris, and Miami on the Horizons developments together with the Bali, Tokyo, and Phuket Mansions, along with Racha Mansions and Nirwana Bali, Cathay Land also has different sizes of condo units ranging from studio-type to one bedroom units and two-bedroom suites.
The residential buildings have convenience and safety as their primary considerations, with commercial establishments such as laundry shops, water refilling stations, convenience stores, salons and spas located at the ground floor. For other necessities, South Forbes now also has a supermarket, a coffee shop, and a membership gym. Then, of course there are amenities like a swimming pool and pocket gardens to bring in that refreshing Tagaytay vibe.
South Forbes Golf City is envisioned not only as a place of residence, but also a place to work. Ng says that they have also put up a light industrial park, accessible to their homeowners in both the subdivisions and the condominium developments. “We see South Forbes as a small city, with several businesses already locating there, along with schools, a residential community, and, of course, our golf course that is one of the best in the country.”
He sees South Forbes not only as an ideal master-planned and integrated community but also one that is a good investment for its homeowners, as the properties have already increased in value since they first went on the market. “With the developments that are happening in the area, all roads will lead to the Tagaytay-Silang corridor, and our buyers are going to reap all these benefits. As a homeowner, this is where you’d want to be.”
