Dusit Davao ushers in the holidays with Paskong Kayumanggi

Dusit Davao Hotels officially welcomed the Christmas season with its annual tree lighting ceremony, held on November 6 at the dusitD2 Davao and Dusit Thani Residence Davao lobby. This year’s celebration carried the theme “Paskong Kayumanggi,” a tribute to Filipino heritage and craftsmanship.

The centerpiece of the evening was a Christmas tree designed by Annie Lin, adorned with handcrafted ornaments created by local artisans from Mindanao. The display served as a showcase of regional artistry, reflecting the richness of Filipino creativity and culture.

Styled by Ms. Annie Lim, each adornment tells a story of creativity, craftsmanship, and community, a true celebration of Filipino holiday spirit.

The event gathered distinguished guests, including government officials, diplomats, media partners, and loyal patrons. Among those in attendance were DOT XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan, JICA Advisor for Institutional Development Hori Kohei, and Consul General of Malaysia Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh. Representatives from Scoop Asia, PTV, Manila Bulletin, Mindanao Journal, and the Davao Digital Influencers community also joined the celebration, alongside Dusit Davao’s valued partners and guests.

The Christmas tree at Dusit Davao Hotels was illuminated in a ceremonial lighting led by Tomas Lorenzo, DOT XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan, Bobby Horrigan, and Ian Itao. Madam Noor Emilia Alias, wife of the Consul General of Malaysia Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh, together with their daughter Hana Deddy Faisal, had the honour of pressing the button to officially light up the tree, marking the joyful beginning of Paskong Kayumanggi at Dusit Davao Hotels.

The evening also underscored Dusit Davao’s advocacy of giving back through the Stars of Hope charity initiative, which supports the Field of Dreams Children’s Charity Foundation.

Guests were treated to performances by the Kaliwat Culture and Arts Collectives and the Serenata Singers, who filled the lobby with traditional dance and Filipino Christmas carols. The blend of music, movement, and heritage captured the spirit of “Paskong Kayumanggi,” celebrating unity and cultural pride.

DOT XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan, Consul General of Malaysia Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh, Director of Marketing Jane Manzanero , and Executive Assistant Manager Ian Itao of Dusit Davao Hotels led the symbolic hanging of the Stars of Hope, a gesture that embodies the spirit of giving and the true meaning of Paskong Kayumanggi at Dusit Davao.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an exclusive four-course dinner at Benjarong Davao, where authentic Thai flavors were paired with Filipino warmth and festivity. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared to reflect Dusit’s philosophy of creating memorable experiences inspired by culture and hospitality.
