NHMFC borrowers benefit from one-month moratorium

More than 800 housing loan borrowers benefited from the one-month moratorium on amortization payment granted by the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation from October 3 to November 2, 2025.

The moratorium covers the areas under the state of calamity in Regions IV-B (MIMAROPA), V (Bicol Region), and VI (Western Visayas Region) for typhoons Nando and Opong, and in Region VII (Central Visayas) for the recent magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Cebu.

This program is in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos  Jr. and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling to provide immediate relief to the Filipino families in the disaster-stricken areas.

In July 2025, NHMFC also implemented a one-month moratorium to housing loan borrowers affected by tropical storms Crising, Dante, and Emong, and the southwest monsoon.  More than 34,000 borrowers benefited from the program.

National Home Mortgage is the government’s premiere secondary mortgage institution under DHSUD. It is mandated to multiply and increase funds to ensure liquidity in the housing sector.
