Visitors at the Mall of Asia Complex were greeted by a stunning blue glow on the evening of October 10, as SM Development Corporation (SMDC) joined the global observance of World Mental Health Day.
The illumination of the SM Mall of Asia façade and all five ECom buildings was part of the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc.’s Light Up Blue Campaign, which aims to raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
The initiative was made possible through the collaboration of SMDC’s TADS Sales Engagement team, SM Offices, and SMDC Services Corporation—an effort that underscores the company’s continued support for advocacies that promote care and community well-being.

Across the iconic MOA Globe, the message “We Shine Blue for Mental Health” shone brightly, capturing the attention of mallgoers and passersby who stopped to take photos and share the moment online. The estate became a sea of blue, as visitors and employees donned the color in solidarity with the cause.

While the “ber” months typically mark the beginning of festive displays across SM properties, SMDC took a thoughtful pause before the holiday rush to spotlight an issue often left in the shadows.

As the country heads into one of its busiest seasons, SMDC’s gesture serves as a timely reminder that compassion and empathy should never be limited to special occasions—and that supporting one another through life’s unseen struggles is what truly lights up communities.
