Ayala Land Hospitality expands lifestyle portfolio with Moxy Hotels and Canopy by Hilton

Ayala Land Hospitality (ALH) is marking a bold new chapter in Philippine tourism with two major international partnerships that will bring globally recognized lifestyle hotel brands to Metro Manila—Moxy Hotels by Marriott International and Canopy by Hilton. Both projects reinforce ALH’s ambition to double its nationwide room inventory to 8,000 by 2030, part of an ambitious nationwide expansion.

Moxy Circuit Makati: A playful, design-forward experience

Announced on July 30, 2025, Moxy Circuit Makati will debut Marriott’s “playful, high-energy” lifestyle hotel brand in the Philippines. The 260-room property will rise within Circuit Makati, a 21-hectare mixed-use development on the former site of the historic Sta. Ana racetrack. The location places it close to retail and boutique shops, event grounds, green spaces, and arts and entertainment venues, making it, as described in the release, “a premier live-work-play destination.”

The agreement was signed by (L-R) George Aquino, President and CEO of Ayala Land Hospitality, Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Senior Vice-President of Leasing and Hospitality of Ayala Land, Inc., Shawn Hill, Chief Development Officer, APEC Marriott International, Kevin Iranzo, Director of Hotel Development – Philippines, Marriott International.

Guests will check in at Bar Moxy, receiving a signature welcome drink along with their room key. The property will feature social spaces, a fitness center, swimming pool, meeting rooms, and event venues. True to ALH’s commitment to local talent and creative innovation, interiors will showcase “graphic storytelling by Filipino comic book artists,” with designs that “transform the living spaces into canvases of color, movement, and playful energy.”

“With Moxy Hotels, we offer travelers a playful and vibrant hotel experience,” said ALH President and CEO George Aquino. “We’re excited to collaborate with Marriott to create what we believe will set a new benchmark for authentic, dynamic, and imaginative urban destinations.”

Canopy by Hilton Makati: Stylish stays in a cultural gateway

Scheduled to open in 2026, Canopy by Hilton Makati will occupy 24 storeys above the One Ayala development, described by Hilton as “an economic and cultural gateway to major financial institutions, multinational companies and vibrant street life.” The 400-room property will combine contemporary comfort with “materials and artwork inspired by Manila’s creative and cultural scene.”

The hotel will feature a destination restaurant, rooftop bar with skyline views, and a hidden speakeasy, which Hilton says will “channel Manila’s eclectic energy” and host DJ sets, social events, and modern cultural activations. Guests will also have access to a pool deck, high-performance gym, and reimagined meeting spaces designed for “gatherings that break the mold.”

“We’re thrilled to team up with Hilton to bring Canopy’s vibrant spirit to Manila,” said Aquino. “It’s not just about adding rooms—it’s about creating stays that spark curiosity and celebrate Filipino creativity.”

Shaping a distinctive Philippine hospitality identity

“Metro Manila is ripe for a fresh perspective on hospitality, and we believe Canopy’s lifestyle approach will resonate with both local and international guests,” said Maria Ariizumi, Vice President for Development, Southeast Asia at Hilton.

For ALH, these partnerships align with its vision “to bring Filipino hospitality to the global stage by crafting experiences that connect guests more deeply with each place and its culture.” With Moxy Circuit Makati and Canopy by Hilton Makati, ALH is not just expanding its portfolio—it is helping define a new era for Philippine hospitality, one where storytelling, design, and community are as central as service.
