A blessing for greener living: CBDI’s Paseo de Lipa makes sustainability accessible

Property Report recently attended the blessing of Paseo de Lipa’s house models and East Entry Plaza in Lipa City, Batangas, an event that signaled more than just a construction milestone. It marked a deeper commitment from Citihomes Builder and Development Inc. (CBDI) to build a future where sustainable living is not just aspirational—but achievable and affordable for every Filipino family.

In a conversation with media during the event, CBDI Executive Vice President John Philip Wang introduced the company’s sustainability framework—Ecossentials—a set of practical green features built into every home at Paseo de Lipa. More than just a branding tool, Ecossentials embodies CBDI’s thrust to change a prevailing belief: that living green comes at a high cost.

“Green living doesn’t have to be expensive,” Wang shared. “If a small developer like us can offer these Ecossentials, then it proves that sustainability can be accessible. Why not make this the standard for everyone?”

Held on April 22, the blessing of the model homes and the newly completed East Entry Plaza was attended by CBDI leaders, partners, and invited guests. The event celebrated both the physical and philosophical foundations of Paseo de Lipa—a master-planned, nature-forward community where modern living and ecological responsibility converge.

The house models incorporate key sustainable design principles: strategic placement for natural ventilation, energy-efficient materials, and the generous use of natural light.  Its signature Ecossentials features—solar panels, rainwater harvest tanks, and waste management systems—prove that practical green innovations can and should be part of every home. These homes are built not just for shelter, but for healthier, more efficient, and more mindful everyday living.

The East Entry Plaza, now open to residents and visitors, reflects the same vision. Featuring native landscaping, shaded walkways, solar-powered lighting, and permeable paving to help manage stormwater runoff, the plaza serves as a welcoming communal space and a physical reminder that sustainability can be designed into every layer of a neighborhood.

With Paseo de Lipa, CBDI is not only redefining suburban living—it’s also raising the bar for what responsible development looks like in the Philippines. From walkable spaces and green zones to integrated ecological systems, every aspect of this master-planned community reflects a belief that comfort, connection, and conservation can co-exist.
