Robinsons Hotels & Resorts breaks ground on Summit Villas Siargao

Robinsons Hotels & Resorts (RHR), the hospitality arm of Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), has officially broken ground on Summit Villas Siargao—its first resort development on the island. This milestone marks RHR’s entry into one of the country’s most dynamic and fast-growing tourist destinations.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the resort is being developed by Hira Holdings Inc. through Mega Mykon Builders and will be managed by RHR under its well-loved Summit Hotels and Resorts brand. Nestled near the iconic Cloud 9 surfing spot and the bustling Tourism Road, Summit Villas Siargao is poised to become a haven for discerning travelers seeking elevated leisure experiences.

A resort designed with purpose and place in mind

The project will feature 18 standalone villas, each equipped with private amenities and designed with eco-conscious features. In keeping with the natural beauty of Siargao, the development blends tropical architecture with sustainable design principles. This vision reflects the shared commitment of both RHR and Hira Holdings to environmentally responsible tourism that supports the island’s long-term growth.

“Summit Villas Siargao is more than just a new property — it’s a celebration of the island’s natural beauty, vibrant culture, and rapidly growing tourism appeal,” said Mr. Barun Jolly, Senior Vice President and Business Unit General Manager of Robinsons Hotels & Resorts. “We are excited to bring the Summit brand’s signature warmth, style, and Filipino brand of excellence to Siargao.”

Expanding to key leisure destinations

With a clear focus on capturing the upscale domestic and international market, the new resort is set to meet the rising demand for high-quality accommodations in Siargao. RHR sees this expansion as a strategic move to strengthen its presence in leisure destinations while contributing to local tourism and economic development.

“Summit Villas Siargao reflects our strategy to expand into key leisure destinations while contributing to local tourism growth,” Mr. Jolly added. “We see strong demand for quality hospitality in Siargao, and this development aims to respond to that.”

Currently, RHR’s Summit brand operates across several urban and business hubs in the Philippines. The Siargao resort signals a bold step into the leisure sector, combining elegance, comfort, and a deep respect for local culture and environment.

A partnership rooted in optimism and social responsibility

For Hira Holdings, the resort is more than just a business opportunity—it represents a meaningful entry into the hospitality industry and a long-term investment in Siargao’s potential as a world-class travel destination.

“We’re optimistic about the tourism outlook in Siargao,” said Seth Hiranand, Managing Director of Hira Holdings. “This project is a long-term investment in the island’s potential as a premier travel destination.”

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, Hira Holdings also announced a partnership with Malinao Elementary School. The school will serve as the local green hub for the resort’s sustainability programs, reflecting the project’s intention to engage and uplift the local community through environmental education and outreach.

Balancing development with environmental stewardship

With tourist arrivals steadily rising post-pandemic, Siargao continues to attract interest from property developers and hospitality players. However, stakeholders are aligned in the belief that growth must be balanced with stewardship—preserving the island’s natural charm while supporting its tourism infrastructure.

Summit Villas Siargao is a timely addition to the island’s hospitality landscape, promising a thoughtful approach to development that respects both people and place.
