The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), the country’s premiere professional organization for real estate developers, announced its newly elected officers. Led by Architect Leonardo B. Dayao Jr., the SHDA’s first chairman to be elected for a second term, the organization commits to supporting the government’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program(4PH). This initiative aims to provide quality and affordable housing for more Filipinos. Also included in the SHDA’s agenda are the integration of international best practices in the real estate industry, inclusivity through regional collaboration, and innovation.
“The housing sector is at a critical juncture, and SHDA is committed to driving meaningful reforms and innovative solutions to address the country’s growing housing challenges. With the 2025–2040 Housing Roadmap as our guide, we aim to foster stronger collaboration with government and private stakeholders, promote sustainability, and empower our members to deliver quality, affordable housing to Filipino families,” shares SHDA Chairman Dayao.
The push for sustainability in the housing sector is a move towards climate-responsive technologies that help mitigate the effects of erratic weather disruptions. Additionally, it also considers improving homeowners’ quality of living by adding elements that contribute to comfort and security.
An alumnus of the University of Sto. Tomas and the University of the Philippines, Dayao has 25 years of experience in the real estate industry across various market segments. He is an executivein the residential real estate division of the ICCP Group, a mid-sized diversified conglomerate with verticals in private ecozone development (Science Park of the Philippines Inc.), investment banking (Investment and Capital Corporation of the Philippines), property development (Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation and Cadence Properties) and exposition complex management(Manila Exposition Complex, the owner and developer of World Trade Center Metro Manila).
