DMCI Homes, the Philippines’ first Quadruple A real estate developer, is ramping up recruitment efforts for its inaugural residential condominium venture in Cebu City, Kalea Heights, with over 1,000 skilled positions up for grabs.
The company seeks construction workers, engineers, architects, accountants, sales agents, and office staff to bolster its operations in the Queen City of the South. This hiring surge underscores DMCI Homes’ long-term vision to embed itself in Cebu’s thriving property landscape.
“We are committed to serving Cebu’s property market for the long term. This includes creating jobs and building a strong team of Cebuanos,” emphasized DMCI Homes President Alfredo Austria.
In-house expertise and legacy
Unlike many developers reliant on third-party contractors, DMCI Homes leverages its in-house design and construction teams—a legacy inherited from parent firm DMCI Holdings, Inc., founded by the late Engr. David M. Consunji, revered as the “Grandfather of the Construction Industry” and “Builder of Landmarks” in the Philippines.
The firm’s Quadruple A accreditation, the highest contractor license awarded by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, further solidifies its standing. This distinction reflects compliance with rigorous government standards in financial capacity, technical expertise, and project experience.
Cebu-bred talent, Metro Manila training
Austria revealed that DMCI Homes has been laying the groundwork for Kalea Heights for years, even recruiting Cebuano engineers for hands-on training at its Metro Manila sites. “Now, they’ll bring their skills back to Cebu,” he noted, highlighting the project’s localized approach.
Kalea Heights: A green oasis in the city
Nestled along Good Shepherd Road in Barangay Guadalupe, the 4.6-hectare Kalea Heights dedicates 3.6 hectares to open spaces—the largest among Cebu condominiums and within DMCI’s portfolio. Its sprawling greenery surpasses the footprint of Fuente Osmeña Circle by nearly threefold.

The development is segmented into four districts—Dawn, Dusk, Summit, and Azure—blending urban accessibility with nature-inspired living. Phase One will showcase the 41-story Leia Building, offering units from 29.5 to 88.5 square meters, all infused with a modern tropical aesthetic.
Php 24-billion investment, long-term vision
With a projected investment of Php 24 billion, Kalea Heights is slated for unit turnovers starting December 2029. Austria affirmed this as the first step in DMCI Homes’ sustained push into Cebu: “We aim to stay in Cebu for the long term, continuously developing projects.”
