Emerging retail builder Reytech Construction & Development Corp. (Reytech) delivers the latest Landers Superstore as it sets out to complete the construction of the new branchwithin the Vermosa estate – Ayala Land’s 700-hectare growth center in Cavite.
Reytech is scheduled to finish construction and turn over the site in Q4 of 2024, marking Landers Vermosa as the first branch of the fastest-growing exclusive membership shopping store in the province of Cavite. With a store footprint of over 1.3 hectares, this is the biggest Landers in the country. This new site is going to be one of the landmark retail projects of the construction firm given its scale, engineering, and design. Reytech has specially taken meticulous care with the construction of Landers Vermosa, as it’s expected to serve one of the most premium and high-end communities in Cavite. As a complete township, Ayala Land’s 700-hectare Vermosa estate makes residential, retail, and business establishments accessible to its residents and visitors.
Landers Vermosa is the second Landers branch built by Reytech within an Ayala Land township. The first was Landers Nuvali that was unveiled in August 2023. As one of the retail centerpieces catering to the fast-growing community of Ayala Nuvali, Landers Nuvali consistently remains one of the top branches of Landers Superstore. Landers Vermosa promises to deliver the same high-end retail experience for all the residents of Cavite.
Landers Vermosa comes just months after Reytech successfully turned over Landers Naga, also the first in the Bicol region, which opened in July 2024. The construction of both developments supports the retail chain’s drive to bolster its presence across the country and serve more Filipino consumers with Landers’ global product offerings and best-in-class membership shopping experience.
Engr. Jay Pantangco, Commercial Director at Reytech, emphasizes how they have provided “hyper care” for Landers by being more cognizant of the client’s timelines and specific needs in every site and being more attuned with the projects’ direct impact on their respective communities.
To do this, Reytech deployed specific approaches for each project. At Landers Vermosa, the firm employed off-site fabrication of both structural and architectural requirements to support faster implementation and reduced cost. For Landers Naga, Reytech combined and executed in parallel both structural and finishing processes which enabled the team to shorten the turnover time.
“Familiarity with various Landers projects allows us to be more proactive, applying insights gained from previous stores to improve timelines and cost-efficiency,” says Pantangco. In fact, Reytech is also responsible for the current repair and refurbishment requirements of other Landers branches within the Metro Manila area.
“For future Landers projects, we plan to use more streamlined and higher end wall paneling systems and introduce the use of pre-engineered building (PEB) materials for the structural requirements of the project coming from Reytech’s partnership with Kirby Systems, a leading global PEB system provider. Both will enable us to decrease the duration of the project by more than 75 days and reduce the cost of structural scope of the project by at least 10%,” adds Pantangco. Landers Vermosa will be the fourth Landers completed by Reytech as its general contractor.
Pantangco further explains that Reytech’s 30-year experience and the company’s ability to do end-to-end general construction works, from structural to fit out works, provides them with enough foresight to anticipate possible challenges that could hinder construction progress. For instance, the firm accounts for potential delays such as those caused by adverse weather conditions like typhoons by incorporating buffer time into the construction schedule of each site. To temper supplier and manpower challenges, Reytech deploys its skilled engineers and workers while simultaneously hiring and training local talent who are eventually integrated into the team.
