UAP’s Road to Success: The National Conference of Architects 2024

Come October 17-19, 2024 in the beautiful and booming City of Davao, the architects of the Philippines will descend upon this land of waling-waling and durian for the National Conference of Architects (NCA) 2024 of the United Architects of the Philippines. This will be a gathering of all the integrated and accredited professional Architects of the Philippines where a mixture of continuing professional development seminars, construction updates, concerns of the professions, town hall meetings, and fellowships will take place.

The theme for this NCA 2024 is “PAG-USWAG” or The Road to Success. The venue for these events will be at the SMX Premier Lanang and at Discovery Samal.

This 3-day event will highlight a UAP National Board Meeting and a Town Hall Meeting by the UAP National President Arch. Donato Magcale on the first day. The discussions here will be cascaded down to the areas of the four Vice Presidents to take up matters of their areas in the afternoon together with the chapter president’s Assembly.

On the second day will be the Opening Ceremonies and General Assembly. A warm welcome speech by the NCA 2024 Director Arch. Rafael Ortiz Tayactac to the more than 1,200 delegates and a speech by the local government of Davao representative await all guests to this beautiful city. The afternoon will be the keynote speech of one of Davao’s pride in the arts particularly in sculpture, Mr. Rey Mudjahid Ponce Millan, more famously known as Kublai Millan.

The third and culminating day will be continuing professional Development Seminars in the morning and then in the afternoon will be a tour and fellowship to the first-class tourist resort in the Island City of Samal, the Discovery Samal Resort where the fellowship will highlight the closing affair of the National Conference of Architects.

Previous to this event on an earlier date, October 14-16, 2024, also to be held in Davao City, will be the fourth Liturgical Architecture Seminar to be conducted at the Holy Cross of Davao College by the UAP Committee on Liturgical Architecture headed by Arch. Stephanie Gilles.

This will be a truly fulfilling experience for architects outside of Davao City who will enjoy one week of architectural learnings and even taste the bountiful harvests of the Kadayawan season–from fruits to flowers to fresh tuna–its local delicacies, tourist attractions, and the kind and generous hospitality of the Dabawenyos.
