Discovery Samal, in partnership with the Davao Fashion and Design Council Foundation, Inc., is set to host a fashion fundraiser that merges style, culture, and sustainability. The Stellar Fashion Gala will take place on September 28 at the Samal Grand Ballroom, the resort’s newest and largest venue in Davao. Proceeds from the event will benefit the b.LOOM Project’s weaving communities and the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. (MTEFI), a foundation dedicated to supporting grassroots communities.
The highlight of the evening will be a stunning 100-piece resort wear collection from Davao’s top designers, including Aztec Barba, Dodjie Batu, Emi Englis, Popoy Barba, Edgar Buyan, Ebay Ayag, Windel Mira, and Benjie Panizales. These talented designers will showcase pieces made from tropical fabric blends of piña, cotton, abaca, and bamboo, developed in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Textile Research Institute.
The event aims to support Davao Region’s artisanal weaving communities as part of the Extra Mile Creative Communities Sustainable Enterprise Program, in partnership with MTEFI. This multi-sectoral organization promotes eco-friendly Mindanaoan products and services, with the goal of being a pioneering leader in trade development and promotion in the region.
Tickets for this night of fashion, food, and philanthropy at Discovery Samal are available at www.discoverysamal.com for Php 12,888 per seat. Don’t miss this chance to support both Davao’s fashion scene and its grassroots communities.
