AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. (ALLHC) has sealed a major lease agreement with VS Industry Philippines, Inc. (VSIP), a subsidiary of Malaysia’s top Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider, VS Industry Berhad. This partnership brings VSIP to the Philippines for the first time, securing over 52,700 square meters of gross leasable space at ALogis Santo Tomas in Batangas.
VSIP, a global leader in providing vertically integrated manufacturing solutions, offers comprehensive services ranging from high-precision printed circuit board assembly to plastic injection molding, sub-assembly, and tool design and fabrication. With its entry into the Philippine market, the company will focus on fulfilling new orders for the box-build assembly of consumer electronics—covering production, testing, packaging, labeling, and logistics.
The facility at ALogis Santo Tomas is slated for turnover in the third quarter of 2024, with mass production expected by the second quarter of 2025. Upon completion, the site will employ around 2,000 people, contributing to the local job market and economic growth. Strategically located in the PEZA-accredited Santo Tomas, Batangas, the facility is easily accessible from Manila via the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and from Batangas City via the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR).
Datuk S.Y. Gan, Managing Director of VS Industry Berhad, emphasized the strategic importance of the location, stating, “We chose ALogis Santo Tomas as our manufacturing base due to its prime location and excellent accessibility. ALLHC’s support and expertise have been invaluable throughout this process, and we are excited about this new venture in the Philippines, which aligns with our asset-light model and long-term growth strategy.”
ALLHC President and CEO Robert S. Lao echoed this sentiment, adding, “We are honored that VS Industry Philippines, Inc. has selected ALogis Santo Tomas as their initial base of operations in the country. This partnership not only strengthens our position as a leading provider of industrial real estate but also underscores our commitment to fostering job creation and driving further investment in the region.”
This landmark collaboration between ALLHC and VSIP is poised to boost the local economy and open new opportunities in the electronics manufacturing sector. For more information on ALogis Santo Tomas and other ALLHC developments, visit www.ayalalandlogistics.com.
