AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. (ALLHC) is further expanding its cold storage portfolio with the groundbreaking of ALogis Artico Consolacion in Cebu. This strategic move is set to address the growing demand for temperature-controlled facilities in the Central Visayas region. The new facility, which will add 6,000 pallet positions to ALLHC’s cold storage network, marks the company’s second venture in Cebu following the launch of ALogis Artico Mandaue in late 2022.
As ALLHC continues to broaden its reach, the company aims to cater to a diverse range of sectors, including frozen meat, seafood, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. During the first half of 2024, ALLHC opened its fourth cold storage facility in Santo Tomas Batangas; while the new facility in Consolacion, slated for completion by the third quarter of 2025, is expected to significantly enhance the logistics capabilities in the region.
Located in Barangay Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu, ALogis Artico Consolacion is strategically positioned near major transportation hubs, such as the Cebu-North Coastal Road, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, and Cebu Port—ensuring seamless connectivity for businesses. The facility will feature 16 cold rooms with temperature ranges from 5°C to -25°C, a processing room, and a capacity to accommodate 6,000 pallet positions.
The facility will also be registered with key regulatory bodies, including the Board of Investments (BOI), the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI). These registrations guarantee that ALogis Artico Consolacion will meet stringent standards for food safety and quality, reinforcing ALLHC’s commitment to delivering top-notch cold storage solutions.
NMIS Regional Director Dr. Alvin A. Leal expressed optimism about the new facility, emphasizing its role in supporting Cebu as an economic hub for meat distribution to Mindanao and neighboring provinces. “This facility can really help us in our desire and our implementation to produce sound, safe meat for the meat-consuming public,” said Leal.
Municipal Mayor Teresa P. Alegado also highlighted the importance of the facility in accommodating Cebu’s rapidly growing population, noting that logistics is a critical component in driving further investments in the region. “I am so thankful that ALLHC are true, good partners. This is the second facility they have established in Cebu, and they are just right on time. The population of Cebu is tremendously multiplying. Within five years, it is going to double. Logistics is very important, and I do hope that the opening of this facility, will lead to more investments that will complement the needs of the people.”
Patrick C. Avila, ALLHC’s Chief Operating Officer, underscored the company’s focus on providing reliable and modern cold storage solutions, which are vital for the preservation of the quality of perishable goods to reduce food waste and post-harvest losses. “By investing in this facility, we are not only broadening our capabilities but also ensuring that we can provide our clients with various locations that can meet their needs.”
