Sika Philippines: Forging three decades of excellent legacy

Sika Philippines recently commemorated its 30th anniversary with a series of grand events, including the inauguration of its new plant and office in Palingon-Tipas, Taguig City. This milestone celebration was marked by the presence of esteemed guests, including government officials, business partners, and stakeholders from across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The morning began with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Sika Taguig Plant. Distinguished guests included DOTr Undersecretary for Railways Jeremy Regino, DOTr Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Atty. Roberto Lim, and Sika executives such as Gaby Elchaar, Area Manager for Southeast Asia, and Philippe Jost, President of Asia-Pacific. The Swiss Ambassador to the Philippines, Dr. Nicholas Brühl, also graced the event.

Philippe Jost highlighted Sika’s global presence and recent achievements, emphasizing the significance of the new Taguig plant for the future of the Philippine construction and infrastructure sectors. “Sika has been around for 114 years with a presence in 103 countries. Over the last six years, we have more than doubled our business in Asia/Pacific and made major acquisitions. This new Taguig plant gives us great hope for the future of Philippine construction and infrastructure,” Jost stated.

DOTr Undersecretary Jeremy Regino expressed gratitude for Sika’s contributions, particularly in the development of the Philippine railway system. “We thank Sika for helping us bring the Philippines back to the rail map of Asia and the world. Through Sika Philippines’ solutions, we hope to see significant advancements in our railway development,” Regino said.

DOTR Undersecretary Bobby Lim acknowledged Sika Philippines’ role in infrastructure development, praising the company for “staying true to the event program’s banner of Forging Legacy.”

Ambassador Dr. Nicolas Brühl lauded the establishment of the new plant, describing it as a beacon of Swiss innovation that showcases progress and quality.

The day concluded with the annual Customers Night at The Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City, where Sika celebrated with its business partners and various stakeholders through a night of socials and entertainment.

Sika Philippines’ General Manager, Christophe Lejeune, expressed heartfelt gratitude to their customers and employees. “Our customers and employees fuel Sika’s success in the Philippines. With the support of our regional and global leaders and our partners in both government and private sectors, Sika Philippines will continue forging a legacy and riding on the Philippines’ growth in the coming years,” Lejeune concluded.
