Megaworld inaugurates the Philippines’ largest hotel at Westside City in Parañaque

Megaworld, the nation’s largest hotel developer with over 7,000 rooms in its portfolio, has officially opened the Philippines’ largest hotel development: the Grand Westside Hotel, featuring 1,530 rooms.

Situated in Megaworld’s 31-hectare Westside City township in the bustling Entertainment City of Parañaque, the Grand Westside Hotel offers various room types, including presidential suites with their own living, dining, and kitchen spaces, Queen Suites, Twin Suites, Executive Suites, and rooms specifically designed for specially-abled guests.

“Grand Westside Hotel is the newest addition to Megaworld’s Westside City township, which is shaping up to be the ‘Broadway of Asia.’ The hotel offers a diverse selection of rooms, catering to both business and leisure travelers. Additionally, its location along Manila Bay provides guests with the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking sunset views,” said Cleofe Albiso, Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the ceremonial opening of the Grand Westside Hotel in Parañaque City on Saturday, June 22. Joining him are Alliance Global Group Inc. president and CEO Kevin Tan, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts managing director Cleofe Albiso, and Megaworld Corporation chief operating officer Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso.

First-class dining and amenities

The hotel features several dining options, including Café by Westside, an all-day dining restaurant offering Filipino and international cuisines. Guests can enjoy craft drinks at the Zabana Bar on the ground floor or the Plunge Bar on the fifth-floor open deck. Additionally, a specialty restaurant, LaMeza, is set to open later this year.

The Grand Westside Hotel’s façade design is inspired by the waves approaching the shore, reflected in the lines enveloping the structure. The hotel will also have a two-level retail and commercial space. The ground-level lobby welcomes guests with a high ceiling and contemporary design, using natural elements like wood, stone, metal, and leather to create a sophisticated ambiance.

On the fifth-floor amenity level, guests can enjoy an expansive pool area with views of the Manila Bay sunset, a children’s pool, a gazebo, a Zen garden, and an outdoor seating area adorned with colorful shrubs, flowering plants, and small trees. The hotel also offers function rooms for various events, a fitness gym, and massage rooms. An Executive Lounge, exclusive to VIP guests, provides a space for dining, express check-in and check-out, and business functions with an integrated meeting room.

Entertainment and leisure hotspots

Soon, the Grand Westside Hotel will connect to the upcoming Westside Resort complex, an entertainment hub featuring four theaters for performing arts shows, including musicals, concerts, and comedies. The largest of these, The Grand Opera House, will be the country’s first of its kind, with a seating capacity of 2,000.

Megaworld Hotels & Resorts currently employs around 3,000 people across its operating hotels in the Philippines.

In 2019, Megaworld committed to investing approximately P64 billion to develop Westside City over the next decade.

Managed and operated by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, the Grand Westside Hotel is the second hotel in Westside City, following the 529-room Kingsford Hotel Manila.
