Wilcon Depot’s 7th Wilcon Cup celebrates partnerships and impactful contributions

PG Wodehouse once said, ‘To find a man’s true character, play golf with him.”

While golf may have a reputation for exclusivity, it’s a game that welcomes all. The lush green expanse of the golf course is more than just a playground. It’s a canvas for creating partnerships, celebrating friendships, and making meaningful differences.

Why? Because golf allows you to spend valuable time talking and sharing stories as you move around the course. It was an ideal opportunity to meet with others who shared the same interests and form long-term relationships.

I felt the joy and camaraderie once more as the Wilcon Depot Cup returned after a three-year hiatus. I experienced firsthand how this event brings together people from various backgrounds, all of whom share a passion for the game. The most exciting aspect of the Wilcon Cup is to contribute to the betterment of society.

“Wilcon Drive to 100th” is our theme for this year’s Wilcon Cup, which reflects our commitment to fulfilling the #FLYINGHIGHTO100 store expansion campaign and celebrating partnerships and friendships along the way.

Ms. Lorraine Belo

As our store expanded in different regions of the Philippines, we have had the opportunity to build relationships with various organizations and individuals who share our vision of creating a sustainable and thriving community. We never stop helping and providing assistance to those in need, as we believe in the importance of giving back to the community that has supported us through the years.

Wilcon Executive and Players

Wilcon Cup golf tournament is all about our love for the sport, bringing together our friends from Architecture, Building and Construction, Property, Design, and Engineering industries. They showcase their skills and enjoy friendly competition. We’re also thrilled to have long-time Wilcon Cup players and special guests like former PBA Player Mr. Chris Tiu, Wilcon Depot’s brand ambassador Ms. Tessa Prietto-Valdez, and Boysen Philippines Ambassador Mr. Derek Ramsey, who also received an award for Low Net and Longest Drive.

The laughter and friendly banter that fills the air during the Wilcon Cup is a testament to the bond that golf creates among its players. It was a moment of pure joy, relaxation, and connection as we enjoyed each other’s company on the beautiful greens.

I am delighted that each one of us from different walks of life come together, leaving behind any differences we may have, to focus on creating meaningful memories during the game and share experiences that go beyond the sport itself.

Crocodilus Donation

That is the goal of our Chairman Emeritus, Mr. William Belo. Ever since we started from a humble beginning in 1977. He has always emphasized the value of fun, family, and community involvement in our business practices. “ To help people build, improve, and refine their homes for a sustainable and comfortable life.” this phrase is the company mission that drives us to not only provide quality products and services but also engage in initiatives that promote sustainability and positive social impact.

ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. Donation

Our  7th Wilcon Cup is not just a golf tournament but a gathering of like-minded individuals who believe in the power of community and giving back. This year, we chose three organizations to support through the Wilcon Cup– ABS-CBN Foundation—Bantay Kalikasan, Crocodylus Porosus Philippines Inc., and the Wilcon Depot Foundation. These organizations received the support and proceeds from the tournament, as the three share our vision of positively impacting the community.

Wilcon Builders Foundation Donation

Personally, I am happy and honored to see how the Wilcon Cup has expanded over the years. This event provided an opportunity for us to join together as members of the community, enjoy a game of golf, and make a contribution to the lives of others.

And I hope that next year, with the same level of enthusiasm and participation, we can expand the help we provide to even more organizations and causes.
