Each country within the region has distinct advantages — from Singapore’s status as a corporate hub to Manila’s booming BPO sector, and Thailand’s automotive industry allure to Vietnam’s tech manufacturing ascendancy.”

Ahrens also underscored Indonesia’s remarkable growth in foreign direct investment, particularly fueled by the burgeoning electric vehicle sector: “Indonesia’s significant uptick in FDI, especially in the base metal and mining industries, underlines the diverse investment potential across Southeast Asia.”

Occupier strategies and challenges

The transition to remote working, catalyzed by the pandemic, is prompting multinational corporations to reevaluate their office space requirements. This shift is particularly visible in markets like Manila, which is renowned for its sizable English-speaking workforce.
