Building a greener future with Wilcon

We are not new to the topic of the climate crisis. Day by day, we witness drastic changes in our environment that affect not only us but also the future generation. From the local impact of pollution to the global impact of climate change, these pressing issues can no longer be ignored.

Wilcon has recognized the urgency of the matter for years now, and we continue to be part of the solution. As part of the construction industry, we understand that we have a responsibility to minimize our impact on the environment and promote sustainability in every aspect of our business.

That is why we, at Wilcon, strengthened our Sustainable Campaign with the launch of “Wilcon Sustainable Choice” on May 26, 2023, held at Wilcon Depot Balintawak in Quezon City. The event featured discussions on the company’s sustainable products and efforts to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable living.

During the event, I shared our commitment to promoting sustainable products and practices in the construction industry. We have been taking steps toward eco-friendliness, like offering a wide range of sustainable products, utilizing renewable energy sources, and implementing recycling schemes in our stores.

Wilcon Depot, the leading home improvement and construction retailer, takes a step toward a greener future with Sustainable Choice Media Launch on May 26, 2023 at Wilcon Depot Balintawak. The sustainable home improvement initiative campaign is an initiative that aligns with Wilcon Depot’s belief in creating a better and more sustainable future for all. As part of the initiatives, we placed ‘Sustainable Choice’ tags on Wilcon products to help customers easily identify the eco-friendly options that are available in stores — from building materials, sanitary wares, housewares, and outdoor and indoor living items.

We also use energy-efficient lighting systems, such as LED lights and solar power in almost 60 percent of our stores, as well as HVAC unit systems to improve interior air quality while also looking for other ways to minimize energy consumption and waste.

Through the Wilcon Sustainable Choice Campaign, we aim to inspire our customers to make sustainable choices by offering eco-friendly and energy-efficient products. For instance, Grohe offers products that allow responsible and safe consumption of water and energy resources by end users. Similarly, Pozzi integrates water-saving features, which reduce water usage through its dual-lever flush. Wilcon also carries Alphalux, an energy-efficient lighting solution that reduces energy consumption.

We are also committed to making a positive impact on the environment by incorporating eco-friendly practices into our business operations. We have implemented practices to reduce our carbon footprint with our waste management program. We also prioritize water-saving measures in our daily operations.

The company also understands the importance of using recycled materials which is why some items are made of up to 98 percent recycled materials. By choosing these products, customers can help reduce waste and support a circular economy, where materials are recycled and reused instead of being disposed of in landfills.

Our sustainability campaign reflects our commitment to sustainability, and we hope that it inspires our customers and partners to join us in the journey toward a better future.
