Megawide and Araneta Center Inc. top off the New Gateway mall

Today, engineering and infrastructure conglomerate Megawide and leading Filipino developer Araneta Center Inc. (ACI) celebrated the topping-off ceremony of the New Gateway at the height of 31.31 meters.

“Megawide is once again honored to be working with Araneta Center Inc.,” said Megawide deputy head of Construction Eric Tan,. “This is our fourth project with ACI and we are thankful for their continued trust in Megawide as they fulfill their vision for the new Araneta City,” he added.

Megawide previously built Cyberpark 1 and 2 and the New Frontier Theatre for ACI. Megawide is also building the adjacent ibis Styles Hotel for ACI, the first in the country. The ibis Styles Hotel project was topped off last Jan. 20.

Megawide team led by president and CEO Edgar Saavedra (fifth from left) with 8990 Holdings Inc., led by chaiman-emeritus Luis Yu (sixth from left) share the stage together for the ground-breaking ceremony of Urban Deca Towers Cubao last Feb. 6.

The New Gateway mall has a construction floor area of more than 120,000 sqm. It will be a seven-story building with structural elements, such as beams, slabs and walls built with a combination of Megawide’s precast and formwork technologies. Megawide’s proprietary precast technology is used to expedite construction without sacrificing engineering quality.

The New Gateway mall is located along General Roxas Avenue, Cubao, Quezon City.
