In collaboration with Aruga Resort and Residences – Mactan, the Holistic Coalition of the Willing (HoliCOW) is bringing the best of island living to the heart of the metropolitan capital. Their signature HIMÔ: A Space and Making Fair will showcase a curated plethora of authentically-sourced and handcrafted lifestyle and accessories collections with the theme “Layag.” Cebuano for “sail,” it embodies the Visayan spirit of boldly trying new things, seeking new horizons, and strengthening community bonds.
HoliCOW is a coalition of furniture designers and exporters based in Cebu, dedicated towards sustainability, identity and community in production and design practice. Their work ranges from holistic community work with grassroots Visayan communities within the Cebu and Negros Oriental belts, to cross-industry collaborations featuring other like-minded designers — Filip & Inna, Natalya Lagdameo, Balay ni Atong, Malagos Cheeses — to bring the best of the Filipino, to the Filipino. HIMÔ (Cebuano for “making”) has long been HoliCOW’s collaborative pop-up brand. The very first HIMÔ was in fact supported and hosted by Rockwell Land’s 32 Sanson development project in Cebu City, as was the second. The third HIMÔ hosted the Tatsulok Trio and Casa Mercedes. Now in its fourth year, we bring the best of island living to Metro Manila.
LAYAG: A HIMÔ pop-up by HoliCOW at Rockwell will run until June 23, 2019, at the Rockwell Sales Lounge, across the Zara entrance of the Power Plant Mall, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. (mall hours). It will feature curated works by HoliCOW-affiliated designers Avatar Accessories, Earthworks, All That Glitters (by Amanda Luym), and HoliCOW exclusives designed by Debbie Palao and Hacienda Crafts, the work of our communities.
Cebuano designers of note Neil Felipp and Strozzi shall have pieces up as well. To complete the island life feel, we are bringing in Zubuchon and Casa de Cacao, two well-loved Cebuano brands for lechon and Cebuano sikwate (hot chocolate).
The pop-up, in partnership with Aruga Resort and Residences – Mactan, will give guests a glimpse of the Rockwell lifestyle arriving on Cebu’s sunny shores. Located along Punta Engaño, Rockwell’s second foray and 4.7-hectare sanctuary will feature beachfront villas, residential spaces, and beautiful hotel rooms, all while bringing the signature Rockwell lifestyle to the Queen City of the South. Here, future guests and residents will find the ultimate rest and relaxation while waking up to pristine ocean views and unparalleled exclusivity.
