Las Casas celebrates History Month with newest attraction, ‘HistoryLand’

With its continuous pursuit to revive key events in Philippine History, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar commemorates History Month through launching its newest interactive theatrical show titled, “HistoryLand.”

Las Casas breathes life to five of history’s key moments through unique staging and reenactments strategically stationed in five key areas of the sprawling 400-hectare heritage hotel and destination.

A labor of love of both Manila and Bataan actors, HistoryLand aims to transport these milestones and celebrate the successes of our forefathers.

Furthermore, the restored Spanish-Filipino casas serves as a scenic backdrop to a line-up of stellar performances.

HISTORYLAND highlights the following events:

BATTLE OF MACTAN

Las Casas’ HistoryLand reenacts how Datu Lapu-Lapu, one of Mactan Island’s chieftains, and his native warriors fought and won a bloody war against Spanish force fighting for Cebu’s Rajah Humabon under the command of Ferdinand Magellan.

With his undeniable love for his community, Mactan Island’s chieftain Lapu-Lapu fought and won a bloody war. Watch how the native Filipinos used their might to fight against the powerful Spaniards and expect to see the death of Ferdinand Magellan.

EXECUTION OF JOSE RIZAL

On December 30, 1896, Jose Rizal’s public execution was carried out in Manila as he was convicted of sedition and sentenced to death by firing squad. Revisit how impactful Rizal’s contribution is to the society while reviving the last scenes of his life.

Relive that patriotic feeling upon seeing the Philippine flag unfurling as it loudly signals independence. The iconic venue for this historic moment was the ancestral home of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first—and youngest—president of the Philippine republic in Kawit, Cavite.

AMBIANCE ACTORS
