The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is set to meet with various homeowners associations (HOAs) as part of the proactive efforts to address their concerns and capacitate grassroot groups to maximize their potentials in community-building.
Supervising Senior Undersecretary Sharon Faith Paquiz, Undersecretary Roman Nicholo Molina and HOA and Community Development Bureau (HOACDB) Director Ling Rigor are scheduled to host conferences with various HOAs, initially in the National Capital Region (NCR) to proactively address their issues and concerns.
The dialogues were in compliance with the directive of Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling for DHSUD Central Office to go down to the grassroots and engage stakeholders, particularly home owners, to assist them with their concerns and tap them as partners in community development.
This Friday, DHSUD will be hosting a conference with members and officials of the Multinational Village HOA Inc. in preparation for their mandated election on January 25.
The HOACDB is also set to hold dialogues with HOAs in Region IV A, in collaboration with the DHSUD Regional Office IV A.
As of end 2025, there are more than 26,000 HOAs and neighborhood associations registered with the DHSUD.
“These engagements with HOAs in the grassroots are part of the Department’s efforts to keep all stakeholders well-informed, particularly home owners, about their rights and the importance of HOA registration to protect them,” Undersecretary Paquiz said.
“We will sustain these dialogues to capacitate HOAs as partners in community development,” she added.
