Eton Properties Lights Up the Season with Kumukutikutitap Year V and Beyond Beats

Eton Properties lit up the Christmas season with Kumukutikutitap: Maningning na Paskong Pamilyang Pilipino, now on its fifth year at Eton Centris in Quezon City.

The annual celebration brought together barangays, schools, and community groups for the well-loved Inter-Barangay Parol-Making Contest, a program launched in 2020 by Eton Properties and the Office of the Vice Mayor of Quezon City to keep the Filipino Christmas spirit alive through creativity and recycled materials.

This year featured 81 parols, each crafted from eco-friendly and repurposed items. The entries highlighted the themes of hope, ingenuity, and bayanihan that continue to unite communities.

There were 20 parols who received special prizes at the event, while the top awards went to:

  • 1st Place: Barangay Payatas (Payatas B. Elementary School)
  • 2nd Place: Barangay Krus na Ligas
  • 3rd Place: Barangay Bagong Silangan

“Sustainability becomes real when people experience it, not when it’s written in a plan. Kumukutikutitap shows how community, creativity, and responsible choices shape the way we celebrate, build, and care for the spaces we share,” said Donna Salgado, AVP for Marketing, PR and Corporate Communications; Customer Experience Lead; and Sustainability and ESG Officer of Eton Properties.

Through its Beyond Green Initiative, Eton promotes responsible living, community partnerships, and the creative use of recycled and upcycled materials across its developments, including Eton Centris.

Eton Properties President and CEO Kyle C. Tan underscored the growth of the initiative and the value of collaboration.

“It is a pleasure to welcome you all to the fifth year of our Christmas celebration here at Eton Centris, in partnership with the Office of the Vice Mayor of Quezon City,” Tan said. “Over the years, this event has become a gathering that brings together Eton Properties, the Quezon City Government, our partners, and our community to celebrate creativity, sustainability, and the spirit of coming together.”

QC Vice Mayor Gian Sotto graced the event.

Tan expressed appreciation to Vice Mayor Gian Sotto and to the Local Government Units of Quezon City for their continued support. He also acknowledged Eton’s sister companies under the LT Group, especially Tanduay, whose recycled barrel Christmas tree once again served as the event’s symbolic centerpiece.

“Eton Centris has always been a place where people gather, connect, and create memories. This celebration keeps that sense of community alive, strengthened by shared purpose and responsible creativity,” Tan added.

Architect Adrian Chua, COO of Eton Properties

Ar. Adrian Chua, COO of Eton Properties meanwhile said: “Kumukutikutitap has been more than a holiday event. It is a shared tradition that brings together Eton Properties, the Quezon City Government, and our community here at Eton Centris to celebrate creativity and the Filipino spirit of togetherness. At Eton, we carry that same vision throughout our developments. Through our Beyond Green program, we continue to make sustainability part of how we build communities and support partnerships.”

The event was attended by a crowd of more than 2,500 people.

Following the awarding ceremonies, the festivities continued with Beyond Beats, a musical showcase presented with Tanduay. Performances by Silent Sanctuary, Moonstar88, Angela Ken, Kenan, Kiss N Tell, and Better Days brought families and guests together through familiar OPM soundtracks of the season.

The concert highlighted how music and community can reinforce the message of creative, meaningful, and mindful celebrations.

As the lanterns glowed and the performances filled the night, Kumukutikutitap Year V closed as a celebration of Filipino artistry, community spirit, and a Christmas season grounded in shared responsibility and hope.
