Doraemon lights up MITSUKOSHI BGC this Christmas

Property Report attended the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and launch of “Doraemon: A Sparkling Adventure” at MITSUKOSHI BGC, where Filipino warmth met Japanese wonder in a festive celebration of culture and creativity.

From November 1, 2025, to January 12, 2026, the mall transforms into a joyful destination filled with Doraemon-themed décor, Japanese performances, and holiday activities for visitors of all ages.

“Tonight as we light this beautiful Christmas Tree and welcome Doraemon, we are thrilled to add a touch of Japanese culture to the spirit of the season,” said Jose Mari Banzon, President of Federal Land, Inc. “It is a reminder that sharing our cultures makes for new, unique memories we can cherish with our loved ones.”

Leading the Christmas Tree Lighting were Jodee Arroyo, Sunshine Fort North Bonifacio Retail Development Corporation Deputy General Manager; Yusuke Hirano, Nomura Real Estate Executive Officer; Jose Mari Banzon, Federal Land President; Yoji Kawaguchi, MITSUKOSHI BGC General Manager and Charmaine Bauzon, Federal Land Commercial Business Group Head.

According to MITSUKOSHI BGC General Manager Yoji Kawaguchi, the collaboration with Doraemon was thoughtfully chosen to align with the mall’s theme, “Feel Japan, Experience Japan.” The beloved character, he explained, captures three elements that mirror what MITSUKOSHI BGC stands for.

First, Doraemon, as one of Japan’s most iconic anime characters, offers the best way for visitors to truly feel and experience Japanese culture. Second, because Doraemon is known and loved across generations, he reflects the mall’s vision of creating experiences that everyone—from children to adults—can enjoy together. And third, Doraemon’s story of adventure and imagination embodies the spirit of exploration and optimism—a message perfectly suited to the holiday season.

Doraemon and friends brought extra cheer to the Christmas Tree Lighting at MITSUKOSHI BGC!

Throughout the mall, festive touches abound. Mitsuko, MITSUKOSHI BGC’s signature Kokeshi doll, greets guests in her new holiday outfit, while Doraemon installations bring color and delight to every corner. The celebrations continue with live performances, Japanese-style Christmas wrapping, and pop-up shops offering curated finds that highlight Japanese artistry and craftsmanship.
