Dusit Davao Hotels officially welcomed the Christmas season with its annual tree lighting ceremony, held on November 6 at the dusitD2 Davao and Dusit Thani Residence Davao lobby. This year’s celebration carried the theme “Paskong Kayumanggi,” a tribute to Filipino heritage and craftsmanship.
The centerpiece of the evening was a Christmas tree designed by Annie Lin, adorned with handcrafted ornaments created by local artisans from Mindanao. The display served as a showcase of regional artistry, reflecting the richness of Filipino creativity and culture.

The event gathered distinguished guests, including government officials, diplomats, media partners, and loyal patrons. Among those in attendance were DOT XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan, JICA Advisor for Institutional Development Hori Kohei, and Consul General of Malaysia Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh. Representatives from Scoop Asia, PTV, Manila Bulletin, Mindanao Journal, and the Davao Digital Influencers community also joined the celebration, alongside Dusit Davao’s valued partners and guests.

The evening also underscored Dusit Davao’s advocacy of giving back through the Stars of Hope charity initiative, which supports the Field of Dreams Children’s Charity Foundation.

Guests were treated to performances by the Kaliwat Culture and Arts Collectives and the Serenata Singers, who filled the lobby with traditional dance and Filipino Christmas carols. The blend of music, movement, and heritage captured the spirit of “Paskong Kayumanggi,” celebrating unity and cultural pride.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an exclusive four-course dinner at Benjarong Davao, where authentic Thai flavors were paired with Filipino warmth and festivity. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared to reflect Dusit’s philosophy of creating memorable experiences inspired by culture and hospitality.
As the holidays begin, Dusit Davao Hotels presents a range of festive offerings, including dining experiences, holiday hampers, and stay packages designed to make every celebration meaningful and memorable.
