Winford Resort Estate, a township development of property giant Megaworld in the City of Manila, aims to bring back the charm and elegance of pre- war Manila as it transforms into the Philippine capital’s latest lifestyle destination.
Once home to the historic San Lazaro Hippodrome, Megaworld has begun transforming the three- hectare land into a vibrant integrated lifestyle community by highlighting French Renaissance, Neo-Classical, and Art Deco influences in the master plan of Winford Resort Estate. Located near Lucky Chinatown and the university belt, the township positions itself as both a lifestyle hub and an ideal residential address for students, professionals, and families.
Kelvin Uy, Head of Sales and Marketing at Megaworld Manila, said the transformation of the racetrack into a Megaworld township was intended to give the area a stronger sense of identity. He explained that keeping touches of traditional architecture is Megaworld’s way of paying homage to the city’s heritage while aligning it with modern lifestyle and conveniences.
“We are designing Winford Resort Estate to honor the rich heritage of this historic area with a fresh look that reflects Manila’s golden years. It’s about making people feel at home by blending nostalgia with modern comforts, in a way that people can live in, walk through, and experience every day,” Uy explains.
One of the most distinct features of Winford Resort Estate will be the Manila Paseo, which will feature cobblestone walkways, heritage-style façades, al fresco dining, and a mix of retail and leisure options in a space inspired by the charm of Escolta and Calle Crisologo.
Megaworld’s latest residential development in the township, One Crown Suites, is a 17-storey condominium with 389 units designed for students and young professionals. Units range from studios to two-bedroom layouts, all equipped with wireless smart home systems. Amenities include swimming and kiddie pools, fitness facilities, co-working spaces, game and function rooms, and a roof deck with a garden, lounge, badminton court, and half basketball court.
Located in Sta. Cruz, Manila, Winford Resort Estate can be accessed via Felix Huertas Road. It is near the University Belt, where some of the country’s major colleges and universities hosting nearly 700,000 students are located. Also nearby are hospitals such as Chinese General Hospital, Fabella Hospital, and Philippine General Hospital. The township is also accessible via the LRT- 1, as well as jeepneys and other forms of public transportation plying this route.
