Ayala Land’s commitment to sustainability has once again been acknowledged, as its Plastic to Pavers Project has been named among the honorees at the prestigious Steward Leadership 25 (SL25) 2024. Under the guidance of Corporate Sustainability Head Anna Gonzales, this groundbreaking initiative transforms plastic waste into eco-friendly paving materials, exemplifying Ayala Land’s dedication to profitable growth that addresses urgent environmental and social challenges.
The SL25, an initiative organized by Stewardship Asia Centre in partnership with the INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society, WTW, and The Straits Times, spotlights 25 exemplary projects across the Asia Pacific. These projects stand out for their meaningful contributions to sustainability and community development.
Selected from a highly competitive pool of 139 applications submitted by 122 organizations from 25 countries, Ayala Land’s Plastic to Pavers Project is among initiatives representing 15 diverse industries and impacting 12 countries. This honor reinforces Ayala Land’s influential role in advancing environmental sustainability.
Rajeev Peshawaria, CEO of Stewardship Asia Centre, expressed the value of these awards: “Transformational change requires more than just rules, incentives, and reporting. It requires steward leadership, which embodies a genuine desire and persistence to create a collective better future for stakeholders, society, future generations, and the environment. We hope these 25 projects will inspire others worldwide.”
The SL25 honorees were celebrated during the Steward Leadership Summit held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore on October 23-24. This two-day event gathers around 300 prominent figures from the business, government, and civil society sectors across the Asia-Pacific region, exploring strategies for purpose-driven change that contribute to a sustainable future.
Themed “Creating a Collective Better Future,” the Steward Leadership Summit is an invitation-only event where distinguished leaders share ideas and insights on achieving a prosperous future for all stakeholders, communities, and the environment.
