The Philippine chapter of the Paris-based International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI-Ph) is eyeing international honors for the recipients of its Property & Real Estate Excellence Awards this year.
FIABCI-Ph chairman emeritus and former FIABCI-World president Florentino Dulalia Jr. said many local developers have great prospects and chances of winning the Prix d’Excellence, the highly-acclaimed “Oscars of Real Estate.”
“Prix d’Excellence is awarded by the FIABCI-World to projects that embody excellence in all disciplines involved in their creation – from conceptualization to execution and completion – and the winners of FIABCI-Ph Property & Real Estate Awards automatically become eligible for participation in such a prestigious international competition,” Dulalia said.
“The Prix d’Excellence is held every last week of May annually, which means the would-be awardees of the 2021 FIABCI-Ph excellence awards in December can be among the finalists in the FIABCI-World’s international awards next year,” Dulalia said.
Technically, the property projects for the Prix d’Excellence are judged according to architecture and design, development and construction, community benefits, environmental impact, and financial and marketing success, said FIABCI-Ph chairman Nestor Mangio.

“Award categories of Prix d’Excellence are affordable housing, environmental (rehabilitation/conservation), heritage (restoration), hotel, industrial, master plan, office, public infrastructure/amenities, purpose built, residential (high, medium, low rise), resort, retail, and sustainable development – all included in the 16 project classifications of FIABCI-Ph itself,” Mangio said.
Broadcast-quality videos of this year’s nominated and would-be winning projects of FIABCI-Ph excellence awards will be shown to FIABCI World’s international members in real time online during the awarding ceremonies at the Okada Hotel in Parañaque City on December 9, 2021.
So far, the FIABCI-Ph Property & Real Estate Excellence Awards had a total of 61 Outstanding Developer awardees, three Property Man of the Year awardees, and two Developer of the Year awardees.
The Property Man of the Year awardees were Andrew Tan (Hall of Fame) of Megaworld Corp.; Manuel Villar of Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc.; and Exequiel Robles of Sta. Lucia Land Inc.
The Developer of the Year Awardees were Megaworld Corp. (Hall of Fame) and Global Estate Resorts Inc.
“However, none of them has won the Prix d’ Excellence such that bagging this award under any of its categories stands to become a historic feat for the local real estate industry,” said FIABCI-Ph president Reghis Romero II.
“The fellowship awards will honor outstanding achievers from various academic and professional disciplines constituting the industry,” he also said.
